Before starting with the guide, I want to clarify that the views of Rio can also be enjoyed sitting on the beach drinking coconut water, it all depends on the experience you want to enjoy! There are alternatives for everyone and, in my opinion, all places are magical.

Rooftops Bars with the best views in Rio de Janeiro
1. Hotel Fasano Rooftop / Ipanema
The location and style of this hotel will undoubtedly make your visit an unforgettable moment.
The pool on the terrace is the main attraction for its guests and those looking to enjoy the best view of Rio with a delicious cocktail.
Located in Ipanema, you will be able to see the sea and the Morro Dos Hemanos, an amazing geography.
Important: access is only for Hotel guests, but if you are nearby, do not hesitate to call or have dinner there to try your luck!
2. Espacio 7zero 6, in Hotel Praia Ipanema
Another spot in the heights, this time on the 16th floor of the Hotel Praia Ipanema. A restaurant-bar, with amazing views, also suitable for breakfast.
There is also a pool on the terrace that can be accessed by staying at the hotel, or by purchasing a Pool Pass.
3. Isabel Lounge, in Hilton Copacabana Hotel
Open in 2020, this Lounge, restaurant-bar is a perfect mix between a stylish space and a menu of drinks and dishes to enjoy.
Enjoy the sunset in Rio with the spectacular Copacabana view. Remember to book your visit!
4. Yoo2 Rio de Janeiro Terrace, Botafogo
In front of the Botafogo beach we find this different and pleasant rooftop to change the landscape from the Copacabana and Ipanema views.
From this rooftop you can enjoy incredible views of Pao de Azucar and Cristo, with a delicious drink in hand.
5. Bossa Lounge, Copacabana
This rooftop is located on the terrace of the Porto Bay hotel, in Copacabana. Like the rest, it also has a swimming pool available for guests.
As its name says, you can enjoy the beautiful views of Copacabana listening to the best Bossa Nova songs.
In addition, the Bossa Nova Lounge is host to national and international artists. What are you waiting to plan your visit?
6. Deck Lounge Bar of the Pestana Rio Atlantico, Copacabana
Also in Copacabana, this amazing terrace with a pool offers a lounge space with incredible views.
During the day, it serves as a terrace and a space with a swimming pool for guests, while from seven in the afternoon access is open to the general public.
7. Sofitel Ipanema Terrace Bar
A quiet, relaxed and familiar space to enjoy tea, breakfast, or have a delicious coconut water.
It’s located on the terrace of the Sofitel Hotel in Ipanema, and like the rest, it’s best to book a visit in advance!
I’ve also stayed at the Sofitel Ipanema during my visit and can’t recommend it enough!
8. Xian Restaurant.
Oriental restaurant overlooking Pao de Azucar and Botafogo. Very chic!
If you like Sushi, Cocktails, and Spectacular views, call Xian to book your visit!
9. A more risky Option: Helicopter Ride
I know that this is not a part of Rio’s rooftops or terraces recommendations, but I can assure you that if you are as much a fan of views and landscapes as I am, this is going to be an unforgettable experience.
I’m not a fan of airplanes but I assure you that getting on a helicopter and touring the beaches of Rio de Janeiro, getting on the Christ and coming back is a memorable experience.
We hired the Comandante Nobre company and we had an incredible experience. If you can do it, I highly recommend it.
