Turn your Blog into a professional and aesthetic site with the best WordPress Themes.
Before starting to tell you about the template I use for my website, I want to organize the reading of this post so as not to make you dizzy. Let’s start as follows:
- My experience with the WordPress theme I chose.
- Similar alternatives to my blog’s WordPress template.
- Real sites using the themes.
- Attributes of these WordPress themes.
Now that we’re ready, let’s get started!
1. My experience with my WordPress Theme.
The WordPress template I use is called Vivienne and it is one of the templates offered by 17th Avenue designs.
After a lot of searching and reading online about feminine WordPress themes and templates, I came across a site that was using my current template and I was fascinated. Not only because I was immediately struck by how neat, aesthetic and feminine the template was, but also because of its friendly user experience.
But the truth is the following. When I started the blog, I did not have in mind to incur an investment in a template and, worse of all, in US dollars. (For those who don’t know, I’m based in Argentina where the peso is extremely devalued and any cost in dollars is very very expensive). That’s why when I fell in love with the Vivienne template, I first dismissed it in my mind because I thought it wasn’t for me.
After several days, and after reading countless informative posts about WordPress themes and templates, I understood that the theme or template of our website is our cover letter. Our presentation to the world. Having a free, generic WordPress template is essentially not a bad thing.
“The theme or template of our website is our cover letter”
Many blogs have free themes and templates and that works very well for them. But having an original, aesthetic, professional, and feminine theme helps us when it comes to communicating our brand in front of our audience and brands we’d like to work with.
The WordPress theme we choose is the first impact of our site. The appearance of our site communicates. We can have the best content and the best ideas, but if our theme does not follow, we might be losing some opportunities.
Going back to Vivienne, the current template of my blog, I have to say that without knowing anything about setting up online sites, I was able to install it without any problem and generate a page that many pondered.
If I had chosen the free template that I was going to move forward with, my blog today would be very different in the eyes of my audience, perhaps less professional and neat than I would have liked.
In this way, having chosen a professional and feminine WordPress template, designed for bloggers, I feel that all my content, and my efforts, are reflected in the best way on my site.
In addition to being happy with the aesthetic and functional result of the template, I have 17th Avenue’s support for when I need it (which I would not have had if I had opted for a free theme) and I can play with the colors, locations, and content of my site without resorting to paying a professional to help me!
But the Vivienne theme isn’t the only theme available on 17th Avenue. Let’s get on with the rest!
2. Similar alternatives to my blog’s WordPress theme.
Now, not all bloggers or all people who have services and products to offer have the same preferences. That is why 17th Avenue offers a wide range of WordPress themes that adapt to your needs, keeping the feminine and neat aesthetic throughout.
In this link I leave you all the premium WordPress themes of 17th Avenue, and a detail of the ones I liked the most:
Mia WordPress Theme:
Before buying the Vivienne template, I was also deliberating on the Mia theme. Not only is it beautiful to look at, but it’s specially designed for foodies, travel, and fashion sites. You can see the three demos for the three types of sites in the link of the theme and navigate them.
Like the Vivienne template, the Mia theme also has color customization and it’s adaptable to mobile.
Ivy WordPress Theme:
My third favorite theme. As 17th avenue says, this template is more classic and it’s ideal for photographers, entrepreneurs, and e-commerce sites. I do not know if it is the ideal template for bloggers because of its structure, but it’s very customizable.
Uptown WordPress Theme:
Similar to Vivienne because it shows at the beginning the last three posts done in the site with photos, although it is a more minimalist version. It’s definitely a very chic WordPress template.
Audrey WordPress Theme:
This template couldn’t be cuter! It’s ideal for Shops and can be fully customized to suit each brand. It is attractive, minimalist, feminine, and flexible. I really fell in love with it, but I felt it was more useful for e-commerce than for a blog.
Amelia WordPress Theme:
The perfect template for fashion bloggers and entrepreneurs. While the templates will look similar to you, I recommend looking at the real site examples below to see how these themes apply to each project.
The customization possibilities are many and you can adapt them to your brand.
Charlotte WordPress Theme:
a feminine and romantic template that can be customized like the rest!
In addition to the premium templates, 17th Avenue also offers simpler templates. I’ll leave the link here so you can browse them.
3. Real sites using the templates.
Now that I have told you about the different WordPress templates that 17th Avenue offers, I want to show you different real sites that opt for them.
Next, I leave the sites of bloggers and entrepreneurs that use the 17th avenue themes so that you can see them with real content in addition to those offered by the demos.
Audrey Theme:
Vivienne Theme:
- Twenty6 Style
- Lifehoppers (mine! 🙂 )
Mia Theme:
Amelia Theme:
- The Tate House
- Home by Heidi
- Aleah Stander
- Nuvola Capitanio (love how she built her site!)
- How to Simplify

4. Attributes of these WordPress Themes.
Now, After telling you about my experience with 17th Avenue, and having shown you a variety of sites that use their WordPress themes and templates, I’m going to tell you the main attributes that 17th Avenue premium WordPress themes have:
Support
First and foremost, when you buy a 17th Avenue template, not only do you receive the files with clear instructions on how to install them on your website (it’s very easy and I did it without knowing anything about programming) but you can access support and contact with them with any doubt.
I happened to have a problem with a Google Adsense code that I had to update on the site, which, although it was not a 17th Avenue problem, the person in charge of answering me knew how to direct me to my Hosting provider so that I could take the query to them.
What I’m going to with this, is that blogging, and the world of websites, although it’s super active and there are many offers and services out there, it’s a lonely process when the person behind the site is only you. Knowing that I have a reliable company that can help me with any problem I may have with the template is a great plus that formed a large part of my decision when purchasing the Vivienne template.
That doesn’t mean that 17th avenue is going to help you with any problem you have on your site. It’s not like that, and in fact, they will only answer queries that have to do specifically with their templates. But, for me, it is very valuable to have someone to turn to when I encounter a problem with my WordPress theme.
Unique
Although, as we already talked about, there is a lot of variety of free WordPress templates to choose from, having a paid template, whether you like it or not, makes a difference.
That does not mean that having a paid template is going to generate that your blog/site has more traffic or better content. It means that for brands, and for people who know WordPress and frequent blogs, your site is going to be different, original.
After trying so hard to generate good content and good posts, having an aesthetic and professional template is the perfect combo so that the image of your blog is impeccable.
Near-instant professional site
In addition to being different from blogs that use free templates, 17th Avenue themes make your site look professional in no time.
Personally, when I bought the template, it took me two afternoons just to install it, and that’s because I kept looking at all the tutorials they offer on their website.
What I am going with this is that your site will go from being a beginner site to having a look & feel of a professional site without having to resort to hours of work from a programmer or web developer.
Responsive
The 17th Avenue templates are fully responsive and flexible when viewed from mobile. Although today, most sites are responsive, it’s good to analyze how your template would look from mobile.
Many users browse the web from their cell phones, and you want your site to look just as nice and professional as it does from the computer.
Customization
17th avenue templates offer many possibilities to adjust theme colors to match your aesthetic and brand.
All colors are aesthetic and look professional on the site, and are very easy to change! Also, by following the instructions, it is very easy to create menus or pages within the site!
That said, and to close the post, I want to emphasize that it’s not at all essential that you use a paid WordPress template. All the attributes that I marked, and that I appreciate from my current theme, arise from my own experience with my purchase, and that is why I recommend them so much!
I know that there are many blogs that use free templates that work perfectly well and that are also aesthetic. Again, the decision should be focused on preference. In choosing themes that a lot of people access daily, or choosing themes that are less accessible.
17th Avenue is not the only site that offers paid templates, there are many today and I invite you to investigate them also if you are considering buying a WordPress template. I recommend the 17th Avenue premium templates because I speak from my experience and my tastes.
If you are doubting whether to move to 17th Avenue or if you want to create a new blog and use its templates, I recommend you read their frequently asked questions to inform yourself well!
In addition to the premium and simple templates, 17th avenue offers installation services if you don’t want to install them on your own. Personally, I installed it alone and I think that following the instructions you can do it too. But if you don’t want to know anything about IT issues, the installation service may be a good alternative! 🙂
If you are about to start your blog, I recommend you read the information on all the steps you have to do before buying your WordPress template (or installing a free one) at this link.
I hope this blog post has been useful to you, either to help you with a decision or to give you useful information on paid templates. Whatever your choice, focus on generating quality content to attract and retain your audience! The template should help you frame that content in the best way and as aligned with your brand as possible.
